1951: Born in Japan. 1974: Graduated from Department of Physics in Waseda University, Japan. 1974: Assistant in Department of Geo Sciences, National Defense Academy, Japan. 1989: Lecturer in Department of Geo Sciences, National Defense Academy, Japan. 1990: Ph. D. from University of Tsukuba, Climatological and numerical studies of deep local depressions on the lee side of the Hidaka mountain range in Hokkaido. 1991: Associate professor in Department of Earth Sciences, National Defense Academy, Japan. 1998 to present: Professor in Institute of Earth and Ocean Sciences, National Defense Academy, Japan.
